Abbeycwmhir Community Council

The Abbeycwmhir Book: History, Homes and Places

Abbeycwmhir has been associated with some of the main events in Welsh History, was protected and visited by English Kings and Marcher Lords, had the longest Cistercian Abbey in Europe and saw the squierarchy's tenants become freehold farmer owners.

The history extends into the twenty first century since the book started as a Millennium Book with contributions from and about each household. It has been written by people living in the Community.

Wonderful pages of Appendices help with research, family genealogy and ideas for regional excursions
